Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Avengers: Endgame.
A new behind-the-scenes image from Avengers: Endgame’s production shows Captain America and Black Panther together during the epic finale. The 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is filled with major moments, but none may be as big as the ultimate team up between nearly every single character that has ever been introduced. This includes the snap victims, as they are brought back by Hulk’s snap to join in the fight to stop a past version of Thanos.
The climactic battle brings together characters that we’ve seen before and some new, but before those pairings happened, they all had to make their way to what was left of Avengers HQ. They come right when they’re needed the most, as Captain America is the last one standing to face Thanos’ army. It is the voice of Falcon that is heard first, but he isn’t the first returnee that we see. The first portal opens from Wakanda and sees Okoye, Shuri, and Black Panther step onto the battlefield.
With the spoiler-ban lifting soon, Avengers: Endgame star Chris Evans is now joining in on the fun of sharing BTS looks at what it took to make the film, and he kicked it off in an impressive way. Evans shared the BTS photo on his Twitter, showing him and Chadwick Boseman in their respective superhero costumes on set. He says that Steve Rogers and T’Challa are just talking about vibranium, which is needed for Steve as his shield has been obliterated by Thanos.
Captain America and Black Panther have only known each other for a few years in the MCU, and after initially not being on the same page in Captain America: Civil War, the two did come to trust one another. T’Challa agreed to help fix Bucky Barnes’ brain at the request of Steve, and then T’Challa welcomed the Avengers team to Wakanda when Thanos initially attacked during Avengers: Infinity War. Of course, they shared a connection already thanks to the enhancements that vibranium gives them both, but that has now been passed on to Falcon instead of Cap.
This photo is just the latest BTS look at Avengers: Endgame to be shared by the large cast, and they are eager to share what they have after being so secretive about the whole process before. Chris Pratt started the trip down memory lane with an “illegal” video from the rehearsal of the finale, and Elizabeth Olsen has provided another look at the scene. Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. shared a video of the crew singing happy birthday on the set of the movie. The entire cast clearly had a blast filming the movie and many have teased that they have more BTS looks to share, so expect even more Avengers: Endgame photos and videos from the set to come down the line.
