Marvel has released a new sneak peek for Avengers: Infinity War on the Disney Channel. The upcoming superhero film - which is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and based on a script from franchise regulars, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely - is one of the most highly-anticipated movies of all-time. Considering that it unites the Earth’s mightiest heroes with the Guardians of the Galaxy for an ultimate showdown with the Mad Titan Thanos, it makes sense that anticipation would be running high for the film.
When it comes to movies like Avengers: Infinity War, any bit of detail can lead to potential spoilers, which is why Marvel Studios expends a great deal of time and effort ensuring that nothing is leaked. That also means they have to be careful with what they reveal in trailers. So far, only one teaser trailer and one TV spot have released for the film. Avengers 3 should get another trailer in March, but until then, Marvel is hoping to satiate fans’ hunger for more footage by releasing a short, sneak peek on one of Disney’s networks.
Marvel released a special look at Avengers: Infinity War on the Disney Channel today (via WGTC), along with sneak peeks at A Wrinkle in Time and The Incredibles 2, during the network’s original movie, Zombies. You can watch the video in the section above; only the first 50 seconds are part of the special look.
Unfortunately, the special look doesn’t offer any new real footage. Instead, it combines snippets of scenes from the first Avengers 3 trailer that released back in November and the recently-released Super Bowl spot. The only thing that’s “new” in this footage is Thor screaming at about 36-second mark. In the film’s first trailer, Thor is shown screaming but it’s never heard; rather, T’Challa is heard giving orders to his people, telling them to “engage all defenses.”
It’s theorized that the aforementioned scene, which has been teased in both teasers, shows Thor creating a new Asgardian weapon with the help of Rocket and Groot, though more from the latter. After all, Thor’s new weapon is forged by using one of Groot’s limbs as the hilt. (But don’t worry, Groot’s limbs grow back.) By showing this scene once again, it seems that it will play a significant part in Thor’s journey in Avengers: Infinity War. Hopefully, though, the next trailer actually shows off some new footage.
