Bachelor Nation favorite and The Bachelorette alumnus Tyler Cameron’s mother Andrea suddenly passed away over the weekend after Tyler had asked on Thursday, February 27th for fans to pray for his mom and his family.
Tyler was a breakout fan favorite on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette and has continued to win fans’ hearts after his time in Bachelor Nation. Cameron is now one of the organizers for ABC Food Tours which works with students in underserved communities of New York City, and recently it was announced he’d be starring on Quibi’s Barkitecture series building posh dog houses for celebrities. After being the runner-up on Hannah Brown’s season, Tyler continued his modeling career and went on to briefly date Gigi Hadid so Cameron has had no trouble filling his time post-The Bachelorette. Things took a turn this past week though when he had to cancel a planned GMA group run due to a family emergency, and his emergency has since turned into a tragedy.
Over the weekend the news broke that Tyler’s mother Andrea had suddenly passed away (via E! Online) after being admitted to the hospital on Thursday, February 27th. Neither Tyler or his family has spoken out about his mother’s passing, but a source close to the family says Tyler is “devastated” and is focussing on “trying to be there for his younger brothers” Ryan and Austin. The insider says this is an “awful situation” for their family and all the boys “were very close to their mother.” Though Tyler currently lives in NYC, the source says that he plans to stay in Jupiter, Florida with his family “for the time being.” Andrea’s cause of death or further details about her situation have been kept private at this time, but the source says the Tyler, his brothers, his father and their family are all “very distraught and heartbroken.” Tyler posted to his Instagram on Monday, March 2nd a touching photo of him and his brother’s holding his mother’s hand, see the heartbreaking photo below:
When Tyler was on his season of The Bachelorette fans learned that his dad had been hospitalized and had to have major surgery prior to coming on the show but that his father had been the one to encourage Tyler to still go on the show. Tyler frequently talked about his parents and his family on the show, and during the Hometown dates fans, and Hannah, were able to meet Tyler’s dad and see the pair reunited after his father’s time in the hospital. His father at the time was still recovering and was managing a paralyzed vocal chord but had made it to the positive side of recovery. Though his father has since healed, sadly Tyler and his brothers are now dealing with the loss of their mother.
Tyler Cameron has stayed quiet since the passing of his mother as have his brothers as they deal with this difficult loss. Tyler often spoke and posted on social media about the love he had for his mother, and Andrea Cameron was one of Tyler’s (and Hannah’s) biggest supporters during his time on The Bachelorette. While she admitted she didn’t love watching her son kiss someone on television, she would host watch parties of more than 20 people because she wanted to support her son as best as she could. Andrea Cameron will be missed dearly by those who knew her, and our thoughts go out to Tyler and his family during this time.
