Sitting right on Embarcadero with a gorgeous view of the Bay Bridge, you could easily while away a morning (and afternoon) at this spot—especially thanks to their new rotating brunch menu. Things we love about it? Genuinely kind service, a vibe that’s suitable for special occasions with the family or impromptu drinks while walking along the water, and a menu that is truly well thought out and perfectly developed. Lord Stanley
On the corner of Polk and Broadway, Lord Stanley’s small plates make for a lovely after-work drink and bite to eat. Sit downstairs and be apart of the bustle, or try and snag a table upstairs for a quieter vibe while looking down on other diners. We loved finishing off our meal with a glass of wine and the restaurant’s perfect macarons. // 2065 Polk St., Nob Hill.
Commonwealth
If you didn’t know what you were looking for, you might just miss this place while driving down Mission (believe us, we had to circle back a couple times). Once inside, however, you are welcomed into the dreamy dining experience that is Commonwealth. A menu so inventive, we found ourselves wide eyed each time we tasted a new, unconventionally delicious dish. And boy, does the staff know how to pair wines perfectly. Set aside a few hours for this dinner—so good they might have to kick you out. // 2224 Mission St., Mission District.
